Step Into Leadership
The Staff in Training (SIT) program is a multi-week experience for high school students eager to grow as leaders, mentors, and role models. Whether you're exploring a future on camp staff or simply want to challenge yourself in a supportive, faith-filled environment, SIT is where your leadership journey begins.
Week 1:
Training & Community
During your first week at camp, you’ll join other SIT participants in an intensive training experience led by our experienced summer staff. Together, you’ll:
- Develop skills in youth ministry and mentoring
- Learn the essentials of group leadership and outdoor living
- Practice teamwork, communication, and problem-solving
- Build lasting friendships and a strong sense of community
Please note: Campers will go home Friday evening and return to camp on Sunday to begin Week 2.
Week 2:
Shadowing & Mentorship
In the second week, you’ll pair with a summer counselor and put your skills into action:
- Shadow a staff member throughout the day
- Help lead games, worship, and cabin life
- Support and mentor younger campers
- Get a behind-the-scenes look at how camp runs smoothly
Optional Additional Weeks
Love the experience? SIT participants are invited to return for additional weeks later in the summer to co-lead a cabin alongside an experienced staff member. It’s a powerful way to grow your confidence, deepen your impact, and prepare for future staff roles.
