Speaker: Juli Seyedell Johnson
Topic: There’s a Story in Every Quilt
If we’re lucky, quilts wrap us in warmth throughout our lives. They also tell our stories and memorialize milestones. Textile Artist, Juli Seydell Johnson, will share her quilting story which started as a self-challenge to make a quilt for the Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp Quilt Auction in the early 1990’s. She learned to make that first quilt with help from her Grandmother. Since then her pieces have evolved from traditional quilts to storytelling quilts that reflect important themes from Juli’s life and career. The presentation will include a quilt trunk show along with a slide show presentation highlighting the inspiration and process behind many of her pieces. www.buffalograce.com
